Mr Sumathi Dharmawardena Hon.President of Sri Lanka China Buddhist Friendship Association (SLCBFA) , Mr Sudath Madugalle General Sectrary and Mr Ajith Dharmawardena Vice President of SLCBFA took part in a discussion with the Delegation of Foriegn Affairs Committee of Chinese People’s Political Consultative Conference (CPPCC) at Hotel Shangri La on Friday 25th May 2018 .

CPPCC delegation was headed by Mr Kong Quan Vice Chairman of Foreign Affairs Committee of the National Committee of CPPCC and other members were Madam Yang Yanyi member of Foreign Affairs Committee of CPPCC and Former Ambassador of China to European Union , Mr Shi Ke, Mr Wang Zhonnyi Editor in Chief PEOPLE’S CHINA.

The delegates of The Pathfinder Foundation of Sri Lanka, Bandaranayake Center for International Studies , The Association for Sri Lanka – China Social and Cultural Cooperation and Sri Lanka China Journalist’s Forum were present in discussion .

SLCBFA discussed the strengthening of Sri Lanka China Buddhist Friendship which dates back to Anuradhapura period, which had historical records of Ven Fa-Shien Thero about the exchanges that took place between our two countries . Further explained joint activities organised by SLCBFA and Chinese Buddhist Associations to foster Friendship between two Buddhist Communities .

CPPCC delegation discussed about the importance of Buddhist Culture to foster bilateral relations between Sri Lanka and China.

Madam Pang Chunxue Deputy Head of Mission and Officials of Embassy of China were present at the meeting .
