A delegation led by Most Ven. Jie Qing Thero, Chief Incumbent of Jing Ci Temple of Hangzhou, China visited Sri Lanka during the Vesak festival on an invitation extended by the Sri Lanka China Buddhist Friendship Association.
The Hangzhou Buddhist delegation met the Most Ven. Dr. Ittapane Dhammalankara Thero , Mahanayaka of the Kotte Sri Kalyani Samagri Dharma Mahasangha Sabha of Siyam Nikaya and held discussions that centered on promoting Buddhist friendship between our two countries .

The delegation also paid a visit to ‘Mahaviharaya’ of Anuradhapura and met Ven. Dr. Pallegama Siriniwasa Nayaka Thero – Atamasthanadhipathi and Chief Sanghanayaka of North Central Province – and discussed about obtaining a sapling of the sacred living relic of the Jaya Sri Maha Bodhi to Jing Ci Temple, China.
Further, the Buddhist delegation from Jing ci Temple, Hangzhou paid homage to the Sacred Tooth Relic of the Lord Gauthama Buddha at the Sri Dalada Maligawa, Kandy. They met Most Ven.Warakagoda Sri Gnanarathana Mahanayaka Thero of the Asgiriya Chapter of Siam Nikaya in Kandy and exchanged views on improving Buddhist friendship between Sri Lanka and China.
