Sri Lanka-China Buddhist Friendship Association implemented the first project SUWADIVIYATA PEN DHOTHAK program to assist people in the Gomarnakadawala area who are in dire need of purified drinking water with the financial assistance of the Embassy of of the People’s Republic of China in Sri Lanka. This project was implemented on a request made by the Adhikarana Sangha Nayake of North East Provinces of Amarapura Siri Sdhammawansa Nikaya Most Ven.Makandure Mahindhasoma Thero at Kalayanapura Gomarankadawala, in the Trincomalee District. Most Ven.Makandure Mahindhasoma Thero speaking at this occasion thanked the Embassy of the People’s Republic of China for assisting people of Gomarnakadawla area who has to buy purified drinking water due to chronic kidney disease which is prevalent in this area . This project will immensely benefit all three communities who are living in Kalayanapura area . This project was declared open by the Honourable Minister of Buddha Sasana and Justice Dr. Wijedasa Rajapaksa P.C and Mr.Liu Dong Head of Cultural Affairs of The Embassy of the People’s Republic of China in Sri Lanka on 19th August 2017.
Second project SUWADIVIYATA PEN DHOTHAK program
Sri Lanka-China Buddhist Friendship Association with financial assistance of Jing Ci Temple, Hangzhou, China; with guidance of Honourable Minister of Buddha Sasana Dr. Wijedasa Rajapaksa P.C.; constructed the Second drinking water purification plant under SUWADIVIYATA PEN DHOTHAK program at Sri Bodhirukkaramaya, Wahamalgollewa in Rambeva for the benefit of the people in the area.
On an invitation of Mr. Sumathi Dharmawardena, The President of Sri Lanka-China Buddhist Friendship Association and Most.Ven Jie Qing the Chief Incumbent of Jing Ci Temple China this plant was declared open by the Honourable Minister of Buddha Sasana and Justice Dr. Wijedasa Rajapaksa P.C and Mr.Liu Dong Head of Cultural Affairs of The Embassy of the People’s Republic of China in Sri Lanka on 19th August 2017.
Most Ven Mihintale Seelarathane Thero , The Chief Incumbent of Sri Bodhirukkaramaya, Wahagollagama in Rambeva expressed his gratitude to Sri Lanka-China Buddhist Friendship Association and Jing Ci Temple of Hangzhou ,China for implementing this project which will take a lead role to prevent chronic Kidney disease which has effected most people in this area. Rambewa project was constructed by the Sri Lanka Navy Engineering Dept in less than 45 days and both projects cost about Rs. 6 Million.
Mr.Sudath Madugalle , The General Secretary , Mr.Ajith Dharmawardena ,Mr.Susantha Balapatabendi, Mr.K.G.Chandrasiri, Mr.Nalaka Senanayake, Dr.Hiran Wimalarathne, Dr.Dayananda Kukulewithana, Mr.Champaka Nandisena of SLCBFA and Ven. Ren Sung of Jing Ci Temple participated in these two opening ceremonies.
Rear Admiral P.M.Wickremasinghe and Captain Priyankara Dissanayake of Sri Lanka Navy with other officers grace this occasion and SLCBFA paid their heartfelt gratitude to Sri Lanka Navy for completing this project in a very short period of time .
